Are you a biker? An aspiring biker? Mark your calendars. There are a couple of upcoming events to help get you out on the road.
Go By Bike Week is Saturday May 31st to Friday June 6th. You can and enter to win prizes.
Just click on ‘Register Now’ and fill out the form. (You must opt in to emails to be eligible to receive prizes). Once registered, click ‘Join Team’ and search for Emily Carr University.
Once you start logging your rides you will be able to track your distance, number of rides, calories burned, and greenhouse gases saved.
Hub Cycling will have a celebration station set up near Nemesis Coffee on Wednesday June 4th from 4-6pm including free snacks, bike maps, and 10-minute maintenance sessions.
The library will also be hosting a workshop where you can make your own reflective safety patch for cycling. Keep your eyes on our Instagram for details.
If you need further assistance with your bike, studio technician Logan Mohr will be hosting a bike maintenance workshop near the east entrance of the school on Wednesday June 11th from 12pm-1pm.
Bring your bike and your bike problems and Logan can help walk you through basic maintenance issues such as patching and changing tubes and tires, checking your brakes, and adjusting your shifting.
Time is limited, so Logan may not be able to address all issues. But he should be able to walk participants through a few common issues and provide some preventative maintenance tips.
We hope to see you there, and happy riding!
